💎 Cola's Lost Collar

One morning, Cola came running into the kitchen. "My turquoise collar is gone!" she cried. Her blue eyes were wide and worried. "I took it off to wash my neck, and now I can't find it anywhere."

Fuzz put on his detective face, which looked a lot like his normal face, tongue and all. "Don't worry," he said. "We'll find it together."

They looked under the sofa. They found a pencil, a raisin and a very old sock, but no collar. They looked in the laundry basket. They found warm towels and a nap, but no collar.

Then Fuzz heard something with his big sideways ears. A chatter, chatter from outside. "Birds," he said. "Magpies love shiny things!"

The two friends tiptoed into the garden and looked up at the tall tree. There, in a big messy nest, something turquoise was twinkling in the sun.

A magpie poked her head out. "Is this yours?" she asked. "It's so pretty, I just had to borrow it." Cola nodded. "It was a present from my family," she said.

The magpie hopped down and dropped the collar right at Cola's paws. "Sorry," she said. "I didn't know it was special." Fuzz had an idea. He gave the magpie a shiny milk-bottle top from the recycling box. "Here. This one is just for you."

The magpie was delighted. Cola put her collar back on and gave Fuzz a happy meow. "Best detective ever," she said.
