Cat Eyes
💡 Did you know?
- Cats can see well when it is quite dark, much better than people. But in total darkness they can't see either.
- A shiny layer at the back of a cat's eyes helps them see at night. That's why their eyes glow when light shines on them!
- In bright light, a cat's pupils (the black middles) become thin slits. In the dark, they open up big and round.
- Kittens open their eyes when they are 1 to 2 weeks old, and all kittens have blue eyes at first!
- A slow blink is like a cat smile. It means: I feel safe with you. Try slowly blinking back!
