Why Cats Sleep So Much
💡 Did you know?
- Cats sleep about 12 to 16 hours every day! Kittens and old cats sleep even more.
- Cats are most awake at dawn and dusk, when the sky is getting light or getting dark.
- Hunting takes lots of energy, so cats rest a lot to be ready to pounce. Pet cats still sleep like hunters!
- Many cat naps are light sleep, so their ears still twitch to listen. In deep sleep their paws may twitch. Maybe they are dreaming!
- Cats love warm, safe, cosy spots, like a sunny window or a box. Let a sleeping cat rest.
