The Frog Pond Concert

Every summer evening, as the sun went down, the frogs at Lily Pond gave a concert. And every evening, Maple the cat had the best seat in the house: a flat, warm stone at the water's edge.
First came the big bullfrog, who sang the low notes. "Brrrum, brrrum." Then the little green tree frogs joined in with high notes. "Peep, peep, peep." Then the middle-sized frogs added "Ribbit, ribbit," right in the middle.
Maple swayed her tail in time with the music. The crickets played their fiddles in the grass, and a light breeze rustled the reeds like soft clapping.
One evening, a tiny frog sat alone on a lily pad, looking sad. "What's wrong?" asked Maple. "I can't sing like the others," said the frog. "My voice is too small and squeaky."
Maple thought for a moment. "Every concert needs a special sound," she said. "Try singing at the very end, when everyone else is quiet."
So that night, when the big song finished, and the pond was silent, the tiny frog took a deep breath and sang: "Pip!" It was small and bright, like a star appearing in the sky.
All the frogs turned to look. Then the bullfrog said, "Brrrum! Perfect!" and the whole pond cheered with a big splash. From then on, every concert ended with the tiny frog's "Pip!"
Maple purred on her warm stone as the stars came out. The concert was over, but the pond was still humming happily, all the way into the night.
