🔦 The Under-the-Bed Expedition

Captain Biscuit and First Mate Crumb were two brave kittens, and today they were going on an expedition. A dangerous one. An exciting one. Under the bed.

"Torch?" said Captain Biscuit. "Check," said Crumb, holding a tiny flashlight. "Snacks?" "Check." "Bravery?" Crumb puffed out his little chest. "Double check."

They crawled under the edge of the blanket. It was dim and dusty. Crumb switched on the torch. "Look!" he whispered. "A mountain!" It was a pile of books. They climbed right over it.

Next, they found a forest. It was a hairbrush, lying on its back with its bristles up. They tiptoed through it very carefully. "It tickles!" giggled Crumb.

Then they found a dark cave. Biscuit shone the torch inside. Two round, shiny things twinkled back at them. "Ooh," whispered Crumb. Biscuit laughed. "It's just my old slipper with two buttons on it!"

Further in, they found real treasure. A lost marble that sparkled like a jewel. A crayon. A shiny coin. And, best of all, the toy mouse that had been missing for weeks. "Squeaky!" cried Crumb, hugging it.

Suddenly, a huge cloud of dust tickled their noses. "Ah... ah... ACHOO!" They both sneezed so hard that they rolled out from under the bed and landed on the soft rug.

Mum looked down at them, covered in dust, holding a marble, a coin and a toy mouse. "Have you two been exploring?" she smiled. "Yes," said Captain Biscuit proudly. "And now," said Crumb, with a big yawn, "the explorers need a nap."
