🎩 Grandpa's Amazing Magic Trick

Grandpa Whiskers put on his cape and his top hat. "Ladies and gentlekittens," he announced, "prepare to be amazed by the Great Whiskerini!" The grandkittens clapped and sat in a row on the rug.

"For my first trick," said Grandpa, "I will pull a toy mouse out of this hat!" He tapped the hat with his wand, reached inside and pulled out... a sock. "Hmm," he said. "That's not a mouse."

The kittens giggled. "Second trick!" said Grandpa. "I will make this ball disappear!" He covered the ball with a cloth, waved his wand and said, "Abracadabra!" He pulled away the cloth. The ball was still there. Then it rolled off the table. Plop.

"Well, it disappeared from the table," said Grandpa. The kittens laughed so hard that they fell over.

"For my final, most amazing trick," said Grandpa, "I will make myself vanish!" He wrapped his big cape around himself. "One, two, three!" And then he stood very still under the cape. A very lumpy cape, with a tail sticking out of the bottom.

"We can see your tail, Grandpa!" shouted the smallest kitten. The cape wiggled. The tail disappeared underneath. Then two ears popped out of the top. Everyone howled with laughter.

Grandpa threw off the cape and took a deep bow. "Thank you, thank you! The Great Whiskerini has never had a better audience!" The kittens cheered and meowed for more.

It wasn't the most magical magic show in the world, but it was definitely the funniest. And when Grandpa reached into his hat one last time, he really did pull out a treat for every kitten. Now that was magic. Sparkle!
