The Sleepy Train

Every night, at bedtime, the Sleepy Train comes chugging through Dreamland. And tonight, Tilly the kitten had a ticket.
She climbed aboard in her pajamas. The carriage was soft and cozy, with velvet seats, warm blankets and little round windows. The conductor was a kind old owl in a blue hat. "Tickets, please," he hooted gently.
Chugga, chugga, chugga, went the train, slow and steady. Whooo, whispered the whistle, very quietly, so as not to wake anyone.
Out of the window, Tilly saw hills covered in moonlight, and sheep asleep in a field like fluffy clouds. The train passed a little village where every window had turned dark, except one, where a grandma was reading a book.
The train crossed a bridge over a sparkling river. Fish blew sleepy bubbles. The train went through a forest where the trees swayed gently, and a family of rabbits was snuggled in a heap.
"Next stop, Sleepy Station," said the owl conductor. Tilly's eyes felt heavy. The rocking of the train was like being in a cradle. Chugga, chugga, chugga. Rock, rock, rock. She gave a long, slow yawn.
She pulled the warm blanket up to her chin and curled her tail around her paws. Outside, the stars twinkled like the lights of a faraway station.
When the Sleepy Train arrived at Sleepy Station, Tilly was already fast asleep, purring softly. And the owl conductor tucked her in and whispered, "Sweet dreams, little traveler."
