❄️ Snowflake's First Snow

Snowflake was a white kitten, and her family had named her after something she had never seen. "What is snow?" she asked every day. "You'll see," they said.

Then one winter morning, she woke up and the world was quiet. Very quiet. She jumped up to the window and her whiskers trembled. Everything outside was white!

The door opened and Snowflake stepped out. Her paw sank into something cold and soft. Crunch. "It's like walking on a cloud," she whispered. "A very chilly cloud."

Tiny flakes floated down from the sky. One landed on her nose and melted. Another landed on her ear. She tried to catch them with her paws, hopping and twirling. The wind swirled the flakes around her like dancing feathers.

Then she lay down in the snow and wiggled. When she stood up, there was a perfect cat shape left behind. "Look! A snow-cat!" she shouted.

But when she looked down at herself, she could hardly see her own paws. She was white, and the snow was white. "Oh no, I've disappeared!" Her family laughed. "Your pink nose is still there," they said.

Back inside, with her paws tingling, Snowflake curled up by the warm radiator and purred. "Now I know why you named me Snowflake," she said with a yawn. "Because I'm soft, and sparkly, and very, very cool."
