The Cat Who Talked to Clouds

Bonbon the cat had a special gift. When she lay on her back in the meadow and looked up at the sky, the clouds would talk to her.
"Good morning, Bonbon," said a fluffy cloud shaped like a sheep. "Good morning, cloud," said Bonbon. "Where are you going today?" "Over the mountains," said the cloud. "The flowers there are thirsty. I'm going to rain on them."
A long, thin cloud drifted by. "I'm going to the sea," it said. "I like to watch the boats." A tiny cloud, no bigger than a cotton ball, zipped past. "I'm just going wherever the wind takes me!"
One day, the sky was completely empty. No clouds at all. The sun was hot, the grass was dry and the flowers were drooping. Bonbon was worried. "Clouds," she called, "where are you?"
Far away, a little cloud heard her. It told another cloud, and that cloud told another. And slowly, the clouds came drifting back, gathering together, getting bigger and greyer.
"We heard you calling," rumbled the biggest cloud, very gently. "Everyone needs a little rain." And the clouds began to rain, soft and cool, over the whole meadow.
The flowers lifted their heads. The grass turned green again. The birds splashed in the new puddles. And Bonbon sat under a big leaf, watching the rain, feeling very happy.
When the rain stopped, the clouds drifted apart, and a rainbow appeared across the sky. "Thank you, clouds!" called Bonbon. And the smallest cloud, the cotton ball one, made itself into the shape of a cat, just for her.
