In Grandpa Theo's cozy kitchen there was a shelf of teacups. Most of them were ordinary. But one, with painted blue flowers, purred.

Nobody believed Ziggy the kitten when he told them. "Teacups can't purr," said his big brother. "Teacups don't even have whiskers," said his sister.

But Ziggy knew what he had heard. So one rainy afternoon, he jumped up onto the shelf, very carefully, and sat right next to the flowery teacup. "Hello," he whispered.

The teacup wobbled. Then it purred again, and out of it popped a teeny tiny kitten, no bigger than a sugar cube, with fur as blue as the painted flowers.

"Hello," squeaked the tiny kitten. "I'm Bluebell. I live in here. It's always warm because Grandpa makes so much tea." Ziggy's eyes went wide. "Can I visit you?"

Bluebell sprinkled a little glitter on his nose, and whoosh, Ziggy shrank until he fit inside the teacup too. It was like a tiny round room, with a soft cushion made from a tea bag and a picture of a teapot on the wall.

They played teacup tag and told each other jokes until Ziggy heard Grandpa calling for dinner. Bluebell sprinkled the glitter again, and Ziggy grew back to his normal size, just in time.

"Where have you been?" asked his brother. Ziggy just smiled. From the shelf, very softly, came a purr.
